In existing plants already equipped with electrostatic precipitators, intermittent sulfur oxide removal could be accomplished by (1) connecting the precipitator in parallel with the scrubber and shifting the gas flow to the precipitator when sulfur oxide scrubbing was not needed or (2) connecting the precipitator and scrubber in series and shutting off the scrubber liquor flow to stop sulfur oxide removal. the sulfur removed by the pilot plant rather than burning the H2S in the regenerator off-gas to SO2 and return-ing it to the power plant stack. Pilot Plant integration The flue gas sidestream for the pilot plant is withdrawn from the main flue gas duct and exhausted to the atmo-sphere through a stub stack on the scrubber. Acid gas removal unit. The acid gas removal unit is designed to remove the acidic components to meet sales gas sulfur and CO 2 specifications.
